How to move a train and change to simple controls in Train Simulator 1.0 (888844)

INTRODUCTION

This article describes how to perform the following functions in Microsoft Train Simulator 1.0:
  • Move a train.
  • Make it easy to control a train by changing to simple controls.

To move a train, follow these steps:
  1. Raise the Pantograph (electric trains only) if it is not already up. To do this, press P.
  2. Set the Reverser to Forward (press W) or to Reverse (press S).
  3. Release all the brakes. To do this, press [ (left bracket) and then press ; (semicolon).
  4. Slowly increase the throttle by pressing D.
To change to easy controls, follow these steps:
  1. Start Train Simulator 1.0.
  2. On the Welcome screen (Main menu), click Options.
  3. Click General.
  4. Under Realism, click to select the Simple Controls check box.
  5. Click Save.
For more information about the controls that are used to control the train, press F11, and then click Key Commands.
