Some properties of a folder in a FrontPage 2002 Web site may be unavailable (888718)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to change the properties of a folder in a Microsoft FrontPage 2002 Web site, the options on the lower half of the General tab may be unavailable. To change the properties of a folder and to see the General tab, right-click the folder, and then click Properties.

The options on the General tab that are unavailable include the following properties:
  • Allow scripts or programs to be run
  • Allow anonymous upload to this directory
  • Allow uploaded files to overwrite existing filenames

CAUSE

This issue may occur when you open the Web site by using an HTTP address (http://).

RESOLUTION

The unavailable properties on the General tab of a folder in your Web site become available only if the Web server is configured to enable the properties.

To resolve this issue, contact your Web hosting company.

Note If you are an administrator who is running a Web server and you experience this issue, modify the values for the AllowExecutableScripts, NoExecutableCGIUpload, and NoMarkScriptable properties to enable or to disable these properties.
