SYMPTOMS

When you run a custom Web program in Microsoft Internet Explorer 6, Internet Explorer may unexpectedly quit and you may receive the following error message:
Microsoft Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

CAUSE

This problem may occur when all the following conditions are true:
  • You have installed the cumulative security update for Internet Explorer (MS04-025).

  • The Temporary Internet files option in Internet Explorer is set to Every visit to the page.

  • Your network bandwidth is less than 100 megabytes (MB).
