You receive an "Error 5450" error message when you try to send an e-mail message in Entourage X for Mac (888036)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to send an e-mail message in Microsoft Entourage X for Mac, you may receive the following error message:
Error 5450
Additionally, the e-mail message is not sent, and it remains in your Outbox.

CAUSE

This issue occurs if the following conditions are true:
  • The e-mail message is addressed to many recipients or to a group with many members.
  • Your Internet service provider (ISP) limits the number of recipients that can be in the To and Cc boxes of an e-mail message.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, reduce the number of recipients that are in the To and Cc boxes of your e-mail message. For more information about the maximum number of recipients to whom you can send an e-mail message, contact your ISP.
