FIX: Memory usage increases when you process cubes in Analysis Services (887596)

SYMPTOMS

When you run Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services and you have a program that processes cubes, you may have a steady increase in memory usage and you may eventually run out of memory. You can examine the memory usage in SQL Server Performance Monitor by looking at the process's virtual bytes.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that this article describes. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
