Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac Standard Edition

To create and save a customized template in Office 2004 for Mac Standard Edition, follow these steps:
  1. Start the program that you want to use.
  2. Open the document template that you want. To do this, use one of the following methods:
    • Click File, click Project Gallery, click My Templates, click the template that you want, and then click Open.
    • Click File, click Open, click Applications, click Microsoft Office 2004, click Templates, click the template category that you want, click the type of template that you want, click the template that you want to customize, and then click Open.

      Note You may be prompted to open the template in the program where it was created.
  3. Modify the template with the changes that you want.
  4. Click File, and then click Save As.
  5. Type a name for the file in the Save As box, click a location to save the file in the Where box, click a format for the file in the Format box, and then click Save.

    If you choose to save the file as a Document Template, the file will appear in My Templates in the Project Gallery.

Microsoft Office v.X for Mac

To create and save a customized template in Office v.X for Mac, follow these steps:
  1. Start the program that you want to use.
  2. Open the document template that you want. To do this, use one of the following methods:
    • In the Project Gallery, expand a template category under Category, click the type of template that you want, click the template that you want to customize, and then click OK.
    • Click File, click Project Gallery, click My Templates, click the template that you want, and then click OK.
    • Click File, click Open, click Applications, click Microsoft Office X, click Templates, click the template category that you want, click the type of template that you want, click the template that you want to customize, and then click Open.

      Note You may be prompted to open the template in the program where it was created.
  3. Modify the template with the changes that you want.
  4. Click File, and then click Save As.
  5. Type a name for the file in the Save As box, and then click a location to save the file in the Where box, and then click Save.

    If you choose to save the file in My Templates, the file will appear in My Templates in the Project Gallery.
