Pictures and captions may be cropped in a TV slide show in Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 (887208)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005
SYMPTOMS
When you watch a slide show on an analog TV set in Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, some pictures may be cropped. Also, if you have captions turned on, the captions may be cropped, or they may not appear at all.CAUSE
This problem occurs because Media Center does not include an option to adjust for the overscan region when watching a slide show on an analog TV set. The overscan region is the area of the display tube that is outside the regular video display area. This region is typically covered up by a bezel on the TV set. The overscan region can be different on each TV set.STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
