FIX: You receive a "Failed to create instance for schema" error message when you generate an instance of the EDIFACT schema in BizTalk Server 2004 (884627)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004, when you generate an instance output type and you specify Native format for an Electronic Data Interchange for Administration, Commerce and Trade (EDIFACT) schema, you receive an error message that is similar to the following:
Failed to create instance for schema xxxxxx.xsd
communication between EDI schema Editor and XSD2EDI failed
You do not receive an error message if you generate an instance output type and you specify XML format.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that this article describes. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
