FIX: Wireless log does not show roaming events (884036)

SYMPTOMS

When a device that uses Wireless Equivalent Privacy (WEP) authentication roams from one access point to another access point on the same network, no event is logged in the Wireless Properties Log window. The initial association to the wireless network is logged together with the network address of the first access point that is used. However, no subsequent access points are logged.

CAUSE

The Wireless Zero Configuration layer does not send a notification event to the network user interface where the logging occurs.

RESOLUTION

Prerequisites

This update is supported only if all previously issued updates for this product have also been installed.

Restart requirement

After you install this update, you must perform a clean build of the whole platform. To clean the platform, click Clean on the Build menu. To build the platform, click Build Platform on the Build menu. You do not have to restart your computer after you apply this update.
