You receive the "The query could not be processed" error message after you save a Web Page that contains PivotTable functionality as a Web archive file to your local hard disk drive (883690)


The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Office 2003 Web Components, when used with:
    • the operating system: Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2)

SYMPTOMS

After you save a Web page that contains PivotTable functionality as a Web archive (*.mht) file to your local hard disk drive, you receive the following error message when try to open the Web page in Microsoft Internet Explorer:
The query could not be processed.

CAUSE

This issue may occur after you install Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2).

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, save the Web page that contains PivotTable functionality as a Web page (*.htm; *.html) file to your local hard disk drive. To do this in a Microsoft Office 2003 program, follow these steps:
  1. In any Microsoft Office 2003 program, click Save as Web Page on the File menu.
  2. In the Save As dialog box, click Web Page (*.htm; *.html) in the Save as type list.
  3. Click Save (in Excel 2003, click Publish).
