INTRODUCTION

This article describes the Microsoft Office Information Bridge Framework issue that is fixed in the Information Bridge Framework 1.0 hotfix package that is dated August 25, 2004.

Issues that are fixed in the hotfix package

The following issue is fixed in this hotfix package, but was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
  • In Microsoft Office Information Bridge Framework Client 1.0, if you have an operation instance that calls an assembly, that operation instance call is successful. However, if you have subsequent operation instances that call the same assembly, all those operation instance calls fail.

    This issue occurs if the operation instance calls an assembly that is specified as a URL. For example, this issue occurs if your operation instance calls an assembly that is specified in a location that is similar to the following:

    http://servername/assemblyname.dll

    This issue does not occur if you specify the location of the assembly by using a UNC path such as the following:

    \\servername\assembly.dll
