FIX: You cannot kill an Interix process when it is blocked on I/O in Windows Services for UNIX 3.5 (872962)

SYMPTOMS

When you run Microsoft Windows Services for Unix 3.5, you cannot kill an Interix process while it is blocked on I/O.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that this article describes. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
