A new Internet Explorer window opens when each slide appears in the recording when you play back a "Basic recording with Windows Media formatted streamed audio" recording in Live Meeting (871027)

SYMPTOMS

When you play back a "Basic recording with Windows Media formatted streamed audio" recording in Microsoft Office Live Meeting, a new Microsoft Internet Explorer window opens when each slide appears in the recording.

CAUSE

This issue occurs when all the following conditions are true:
  • The recording contains multiple slides (text slides or white boards).
  • The recording is viewed when the Media bar is turned on in Internet Explorer.
  • The Reuse windows for launching shortcuts setting is not selected in Internet Explorer.
  • The Play Web media in the bar setting is selected in Media Options on the Media bar.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, turn on the Reuse windows for launching shortcuts setting in Internet Explorer. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Start Internet Explorer.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  3. On the Advanced tab, click to select the Reuse windows for launching shortcuts check box in the Settings list, and then click OK.
Note For the best playback experience, view Live Meeting recordings in a separate Microsoft Windows Media Player window instead of on the Internet Explorer Media bar. To change this configuration in Internet Explorer, follow these steps:
  1. Click View, point to Explorer Bar, and then click Media.
  2. Click Media Options at the bottom of the Media Bar window, point to Settings, and then click to clear the Play web media in the bar check box.
  3. Quit Internet Explorer.
