The PresentationClose event does not return the Fullname, the Path, and the Name properties when you quit PowerPoint 2002 (871009)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft PowerPoint 2002

SYMPTOMS

When you quit Microsoft PowerPoint 2002 and then use the PresentationClose event to capture the Fullname, the Path, and the Name properties of a presentation by using a Microsoft Visual Basic macro or other code, the incorrect information is returned for the properties.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because Microsoft PowerPoint does not retain the presentation context when you quit PowerPoint and close a presentation at the same time.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, close the presentation, and then quit PowerPoint 2002. If you close the presentation first, PowerPoint will retain the presentation context and return the correct values so that the PresentationClose event can capture the Fullname, the Path, and the Name properties of the presentation.
