Gridlines Not Displayed in Linked Spreadsheet Object (87361)
This article was previously published under Q87361
SUMMARY
A linked spreadsheet object is displayed and prints with gridlines in
the Word Processing module of Microsoft Works version 2.0 for Windows
only if gridlines were visible in the spreadsheet when the object was
originally copied.
The active printer and video drivers can also stop the gridlines in a
linked spreadsheet object from being displayed. For example, there are
no gridlines in the linked object if the Generic/Text Only printer
driver is selected, even if the Show Gridlines option was selected
when the data was originally copied.
MORE INFORMATION
The display of gridlines in the linked spreadsheet object cannot be
changed after the link is established. To change the display of
gridlines, the linked object must be deleted, and a new link must be
established with the spreadsheet either displaying or hiding the
gridlines as desired.
Choose Show Gridlines from the Options menu in the Spreadsheet module
to turn gridlines on or off before you copy the spreadsheet object.
The Print Gridlines option in the Page Setup And Margins dialog box
does not influence the printing of gridlines in linked spreadsheet
objects.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in version 2.0 of Works
for Windows. We are researching this problem and will post new
information here as it becomes available.
