Virtual PC unexpectedly quits at startup (867511)

SYMPTOMS

When you start Microsoft Virtual PC for Mac, you may receive the following error message:
The application Virtual PC has unexpectedly quit. The system and other applications have not been affected.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if you have a corrupted print job in Print Spooler.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, delete the corrupted print job in the Virtual PC Print Spool folder:
  1. In the Finder, click Go, and then click Home.
  2. Double-click the Library folder, and then double-click the Preferences folder.
  3. Double-click the Virtual PC 6.0 Preferences folder, and then double-click the Virtual PC Print Spool folder.
  4. Press COMMAND+A to select all the files in the Virtual PC Print Spool folder.
  5. Click Move To Trash on the File menu.
  6. Restart Virtual PC.
