PRJ: Number of Characters in MPX Notes Field (86729)

SUMMARY

With the exception of Microsoft Project for Windows, version 1.0, and Microsoft Project for the Macintosh, version 1.1, the note field in the versions of Microsoft Project listed at the beginning of this article will hold up to 3072 characters. In these versions of Microsoft Project, when you save a file in MPX format, all 3072 characters are written to the file. In contrast, in Microsoft Project for Windows, version 1.0, and Microsoft Project for the Macintosh, version 1.1, the note field can hold 1024 characters. However, when you export a file to the MPX format, 200 characters for each note field are written to the MPX file. Any additional characters are truncated and lost.
