SYMPTOMS

When a document is printed from an application running under Microsoft Windows version 3.1 to an Epson LQ-2550 color printer, if the color option is disabled in Control Panel, black may print as blue or magenta.

WORKAROUND

Disable the color option, and then turn the printer off and on again.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in EPSON24.DRV version 1.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here as it becomes available.

MORE INFORMATION

The LQ-2550, using the EPSON24.DRV version 1.0, can print color from applications such as Windows Paintbrush. If you were printing color and then disable the color option in Control Panel, then print as a standard noncolor printer, black may print out as blue or magenta.
