Age of Mythology: You receive the "An invalid argument has occurred" error message when you start a multiplayer game of Age of Mythology or of Age of Mythology: The Titans (842950)

SYMPTOMS

When you start a multiplayer game of Microsoft Age of Mythology or of Microsoft Age of Mythology: The Titans, you may receive the following error message:
An invalid argument has occurred.

CAUSE

This behavior is fixed in updates that are available for both games.

RESOLUTION

To install the latest updates, use one of the following methods.

Method 1: Use the update program link for Age of Mythology

  1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Microsoft Games, point to Age of Mythology, and then click Update Age of Mythology.
  2. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to update or to confirm that you have the latest update installed.

Method 2: Use the update program link for Age of Mythology: The Titans

  1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Microsoft Games, point to Age of Mythology - The Titans Expansion, and then click Update Age of Mythology - The Titans Expansion.
  2. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to update or to confirm that you have the latest update installed.
