INTRODUCTION
This article describes the Microsoft Outlook 2000 issue that
is fixed in the Outlook post-Service Pack 3 (SP3) hotfix package that is dated
April 9, 2004.

The following issue is fixed in this hotfix package but was not
previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
- When you have multiple certificates installed, Outlook 2000
does not always automatically select the certificate that has the longest
expiration date for the default Secure e-mail security
settings.
Note You can view the certificate that Outlook 2002 selects if you
click Options on the Tools menu, click the
Security tab, click the Settings button in
the Secure e-mail section, and then view the certificate that
appears in the Signing Certificate and in the
Encryption Certificate boxes.
