SYMPTOMS

After you run an application eight times by using Microsoft eMbedded Visual C++ 4.0 Service Pack 4 (SP4), you may receive the following error message:
Platform Manager cannot create the communication streams needed by the debugger. Refer to the online help for information about configuring Platform Manager.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, disconnect the mobile device from Microsoft ActiveSync. Then, connect the mobile device to ActiveSync again. Then, you can run or debug the application by using the eMbedded Visual C++ IDE. You do not have to restart the computer.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
