You cannot see the new version number in Help or the SD40-2 update is not available in the list of locomotives after you download the SD40-2 update in Train Simulator 1.0 (839112)

SYMPTOMS

When you are playing Microsoft Train Simulator 1.0, you may experience one of the following symptoms:

The version number of Microsoft Train Simulator is 1.00 when you view the version in Help even after you install the 1.1 update or the 1.2 update.
The SD40-2 update is not available in the list of locomotives after you download the SD40-2 content update.

CAUSE

The version update does not change the version number that you see on the About screen in Help. The SD40-2 update requires both the Trainupdate.exe update and the Toolupdate.exe update to be installed.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, use the following method that is appropriate for your situation.

Method 1: Update Train Simulator from version 1.0 to version 1.1

To obtain the Trainupdate.exe update, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

Method 2: Update from version 1.1 to version 1.2 and install the SD40-2

To obtain the SD40-2_content_update.exe update, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

If you do not see the SD40-2 update in the locomotives list, install both the Trainupdate.exe update and the Toolupdate.exe update. Both updates are available on the same Web site.
