Installation quits unexpectedly in Mac Office Value Pack (836761)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to install the Microsoft Office v. X for Mac Value Pack, the installation may quit unexpectedly. The installation may quit when you start the Setup program, or when you try to configure the installation.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the installation process does not correctly detect the language settings on your computer.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
  1. Click the Apple menu, and then click System Preferences.
  2. Double-click International.
  3. On the Language tab, under Languages, use a drag-and-drop operation to change the preferred language order.

    Do not change the preferred order for languages that you use frequently.
  4. Click System Preferences, and then click Quit System Preferences.
  5. Install the Value Pack again.
