A JavaScript error occurs when you localize the Web Author console (835969)

SYMPTOMS

When you localize the Web Author console, and you modify the IDS_UI_NO_ATTACHMENT_SET resource so that the IDS_UI_NO_ATTACHMENT_SET resource contains a single straight quotation mark ('), a JavaScript error occurs.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Microsoft Content Management Server 2002 service pack that contains this hotfix.

This hotfix package includes a Microsoft Windows Installer package. If the Web Author console has not been localized on your system, you can use the Microsoft Windows Installer package to install the hotfix.

The hotfix package also includes the Nrdhtml.cab file and the Microsoft.ContentManagement.WebControls.dll file in zipped format. If the Web Author console has already been localized on your system, you can use the Nrdhtml.cab file and the Microsoft.ContentManagement.WebControls.dll file to install the hotfix. To do this, manually replace the Nrdhtml.cab file and the Microsoft.ContentManagement.WebControls.dll file, and then register the DLL by using the following command:

GACUTIL -IF Microsoft.ContentManagement.WebControls.dll

GACUTIL is part of the Microsoft .NET Framework Software Development Kit (SDK).
