FIX: You may receive the "4216" event message in Event Viewer when you experience an access violation in Microsoft Message Queuing 2.0 (834819)

SYMPTOMS

When you experience an access violation on a computer that is running Microsoft Message Queuing, you may receive the following event message in Event Viewer:
Event type: Error
Event source: COM+
Event Category: QC Recorder
Event ID: 4216
Description: MQSendMessage: An invalid parameter was passed to a function. 
Error code = 0xc00e0006 : 
Internal information to COM+ services:File : .\channelmanager.cpp, Line: 365

CAUSE

This issue occurs when a low resource condition exists on the computer that is running Message Queuing. The event message that is mentioned in the "Symptoms" section appears in Event Viewer even though a low resource condition caused the access violation.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Microsoft Windows 2000 service pack that contains this hotfix.
