FIX: The caret shape appears as a thick rectangle after you switch from the Korean Input Method Editor (IME) to English in Visual FoxPro 8.0 (834271)

SYMPTOMS

You type some English characters. Then, you switch to the Korean Input Method Editor (IME) to type some Korean characters. The caret shape changes to a thick rectangle. Even if you switch back to English, and you type English characters, the caret shape remains a thick rectangle. This problem occurs in Microsoft Visual FoxPro 8.0.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next service pack that contains this hotfix.
