The titles are removed from the Navigation Bars and the Page Banners when you add a page to the Navigation view in FrontPage 2000 (833700)

SYMPTOMS

When you add a page to the Navigation view in Microsoft FrontPage 2000, you find that the titles are removed from the Navigation Bars and the Page Banners. When you remove the newly added page, the titles are restored.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the navigation structure configuration file, the Structure.cnf file, of your Web is corrupted. The structure configuration file is located in the _vti_pvt folder of your Web on the Web server, and it contains the navigation structure information.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, delete the Structure.cnf file from the _vti_pvt folder of your Web, and then rebuild the navigation structure.

A navigation structure shows how pages in a Web are related to each other, and it provides Microsoft FrontPage with a way to set up navigation bars. You can set up a navigation structure for your Web in Navigation view.

A navigation bar is a set of text or button hyperlinks that is used for navigating a Web site. For example, a typical navigation bar may have hyperlinks to the Web site's home page and to its top-level main pages. You can also display a navigation bar on every page in your Web so that visitors can quickly and easily browse through your Web site. You can create your own text or button hyperlinks for navigation, or you can let FrontPage generate the navigation hyperlinks for you, based on the navigation structure that you have set up in the Navigation view.
