Impossible Creatures update stops at 27% during installation (832786)


The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

When you try to install the update for Microsoft Impossible Creatures, the update may stop responding at 27% on the Engine.sga file.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if either one of the following conditions is true:
  • The progress may go very slowly as the large files download because of the nature of the update.
  • The Microsoft Windows Installer may be damaged or corrupted.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, follow the methods in the order that they appear.

Method 1: Wait for the file to download

Wait at least 30 minutes for this file to download. If the progress bar does not advance after 30 minutes, go to the next method.

Method 2: Reinstall the Windows Installer

Obtain the Windows Installer Engine, and then reinstall the Windows Installer.
