When you have problems with MOM Reporting, make sure that the latest version of the Eearept.exe file is installed. The version that is included in MOM 2000 Service Pack 1 (SP1) is version 4.0.1300.0. Microsoft has released an updated version.

• If you disable 8.3 file name support in the NTFS file system before MOM is installed, the path of the MOM Reporting database (Eearept.mdb) cannot be determined. (For more information, see KB article 814230.) When you try to print a report, you may receive the following error message:
  ERROR: You must install a printer before you design, print, or preview.
  Because printers are profile specific, the Eearept.exe file checks the user profile for a printer. If a printer is not found, this error occurs. The user profile must also contain a default printer name when you use the Report Command Line Wizard or the Scheduled Tasks Wizard.
• When you try to save a report, you may receive the following error message:
  The section width is greater than the page width, and there are no items in the additional space, so some pages may be blank. For example, the report width may be wider than the page width.

• When you connect to the console or to the Report Command Line Wizard through a Terminal Services session, you may affect reporting functionality. For example, if you create a batch file by using the Report Command Line Wizard, and you run it over a Terminal Services session, MOM opens multiple occurrences of the Graph9.exe file, and report generation does not finish.
• The Windows Server 2003 or the Windows 2000 Top CPU utilization report is empty or contains inconsistent data. A hotfix is available to correct these problems.

• You cannot generate HTML reports.

• When you use the Report Command Line Wizard, information that was entered in the Specify forest, domains, server and chart type dialog box may create invalid batch files.

• The "AD Controllers by Domain" report does not run or contains incorrect results.

• If NTFS permissions are explicitly set on the Eearept.mdb file, MOM cannot save changes that you make to the file. For example, MOM cannot save a report in HTML format.
