Rules that are based on the "through the specified account" option do not work after you upgrade to Outlook 2003 (830306)

SYMPTOMSAfter you upgrade to Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 from
Microsoft Outlook 2000 with multiple Post Office Protocol (POP) accounts, the
rules that are based on the through the specified account
option that is available in the Rules and Alerts Wizard may not
work.WORKAROUNDTo work around this behavior, use the Outlook 2003 Rules
Wizard to re-create the rules. To do this, follow these steps:
- On the Tools menu, click Rules and
Alerts.
- On the E-mail Rules tab, click
New Rule.
- Click Start from a blank rule, and then
click Next.
- Under Step 1: Select Condition(s), click
to select the through the specified account check
box.
- Under Step 2: Edit the rule description,
click specified to enter the specified POP account, click
OK, and then click Next.
- Under What do you want to do with the
message, click the option that you want, and then click the underlined
value to enter the specified folder.
- Click Next two times, and then click
Finish.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
