"BaseDumpAppcompatCache could not be located" error message when you use Enterprise Manager to search the SMS site database (830025)

SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 Enterprise Manager to search the Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2003 site database (SMS_SiteCode) on a computer that is running SQL Server, you receive the following error message:
BaseDumpAppcompatCache could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when SMS 2003 locks the SMS 2003 site database on the computer that is running SQL Server.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, close the SMS Administrator Console. By doing this, you release the lock that the SMS Administrator Console has on the SMS 2003 site database.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section of this article.
