Some Client Computers Do Not Run an Advertised Program After You Re-enable Its Dependent Program (829866)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Systems Management Server 2003
SYMPTOMSIn the following Microsoft Systems Management Server 2003 scenario, some client computers process the request to run the program, while other client computers do not: - You advertise a program that is dependent on another program.
- You disable the dependant program.
- You re-enable the dependant program.
CAUSEThis problem occurs when the both of the following conditions exist: - You have SMS Advanced Client installed on some client computers and SMS 2003 Legacy Client installed on other client computers.
- The package trigger condition has passed.
In Systems Management Server 2003, client computers that are running SMS Advanced Client can successfully run a program that processes a request to run a re-enabled dependent program after the trigger condition has passed. However, client computers that are running SMS 2003 Legacy Client cannot.
