Deployment Readiness Wizard tests are not successful during the client query process and you receive an error message (829834)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Systems Management Server 2003

SYMPTOMS

Some Deployment Readiness Wizard (DRW) tests are not successful during the client query process. You receive an error message that is similar to the following:
DRW failed to execute 'check for Alpha clients query'

CAUSE

This problem occurs when the SMS 2003 default site database definition tables have changed and the dataloader definition tables are loaded instead of the SMS 2003 default definition tables. For example, when certain SQL tables are dropped during Manage Object Format (MOF) extension and cleanup, the next Management Information Format (MIF) file may cause the dataloader to re-create the tables and load the dataloader definition tables. However, some dataloader tables are different from the following SMS 2003 default definition tables:
  • Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition clients without Microsoft Internet Explorer 5
  • Alpha processor clients

When these definition tables are loaded by dataloader, 00 is appended to the definition instead of the default 0. The DRW tests look for the default definitions. If the DRW cannot locate the default definitions for that test, the test is not successful.
