Project Task Duration Appears As 0d When You Import a Project 2003 File in Visio 2003 (829726)

SYMPTOMS

When you import a Microsoft Office Project 2003 file (*.mpp) in Microsoft Office Visio 2003 as a Gantt Chart, the task duration may appear as 0d (zero days) in the Gantt chart.

Note Gantt charts are bar charts that show activities and durations.

CAUSE

This behavior may occur when the task is set with both a milestone and a duration in Project 2003. Visio 2003 does not support milestones when a duration has also been defined in a task.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior in Visio 2003, do not include a milestone in a task that contains a duration in your Project 2003 file.

However, if the duration in your imported Project 2003 file appears as 0d, double-click the duration, and then type the correct duration value in days.
