The gradient fill feature does not behave correctly in flowchart template shapes in Visio 2003 (829228)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Office Visio Professional 2003
- Microsoft Office Visio Standard 2003
SYMPTOMSWhen you start a new Microsoft Office Visio 2003 Basic
Flowchart Template from the Business Process Category and you drag a shape onto
the page, the shape only has a light blue fill and not the gradient fill that
is typically used with this template.CAUSEThis problem occurs if you open a Microsoft Visio 2000
drawing based on the Basic Flowchart Template before you create the new
drawing. The older style definition for Normal Flow shapes is partially
overriding the newer version of the Normal Flow style.
The new
Business Process category includes templates that have upgraded the Normal
Flow, Connector, and Basic styles to use a graded fill, bold outline, and
shadow. The shapes were not changed, only the styles definitions in the
Business Process Templates. WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, update the Style definitions in
the older file so that they match the newer Style definitions. To do this,
follow these steps:
- On the Format menu, click Define
Styles.
- Under Style, in the Name
list, click the style that you want to edit.
- To change the style settings, under
Change, click the attributes that you want to edit:
Text, Line, or
Fill.
- Make the appropriate changes to the attributes, and then
click OK.
- To add the changes and continue working in the dialog box,
click Change.
Otherwise click OK.
