Office Update offers Office 2000 SP3 as a critical update after you install Office 2000 SP3 (829080)

SYMPTOMS

When you install Microsoft Office 2000 Service Pack 3 (SP-3) from the Microsoft Office Update Web site, you receive a message that states that the installation was completed successfully.

However, when you revisit the Web site, Office 2000 Service Pack 3 (SP-3) is offered again as a critical update for your Office 2000 installation.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if either of the following conditions is true:

You install the Microsoft Access 2000 Runtime Service Pack 3 (SP3) on a computer that has the Office 2000 SP-3 already installed.

-or-
You install the Access 2000 Runtime SP3 and the Office 2000 SP-3 updates at the same time from the Microsoft Office Update Web site.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, install the Office 2000 Service Pack 3 (SP-3) critical update again. To do this, visit the following Microsoft Office Update Web site:

http://office.microsoft.com/officeupdate/mainCatalog.aspx

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Office Update Web site.
