Menu customizations are lost when you restart Visio 2003 (828827)


The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Office Visio Professional 2003
  • Microsoft Office Visio Standard 2003

SYMPTOMS

When you start Microsoft Office Visio 2003, your menu customizations (for example, a new custom menu) are removed.

CAUSE

This behavior may occur if you follow these steps:
  1. You add a custom menu to the Visio 2003 menu bar.
  2. You do one of the following:
    • Run a Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) macro that adds a second custom menu to your Visio 2003 menu bar.
    • Load a Visio VSL (a custom add-on DLL) file that contains a VBA macro that adds a second custom menu to your Visio 2003 menu bar.
  3. You close and then restart Visio 2003.

WORKAROUND

As of December 2003, there is no known workaround or resolution for this problem.
