MORE INFORMATION

Office 2003 Web Components is a collection of COM controls that can be used in Web pages. These controls permit you to publish interactive data as part of a Web page. In Access 2003, you can create a data access page and view the page on the Web. However, Access 2003 does not support Office 2003 Web Components. Access 2003 uses Microsoft Office XP Web Components. Office XP Web Components are installed as part of Microsoft Office 2003.

Although Access 2003 does not support Office 2003 Web Components, other Office 2003 products, such as Microsoft Office Excel 2003 and Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003, support Office 2003 Web Components. Therefore, you can create a Web page that contains Office 2003 Web Components by using the Office 2003 products that support Office 2003 Web Components. If you try to edit one of these Web pages by using Access 2003, you may receive the error message that is mentioned in the "Symptoms" section of this article.

Note In Access 2003, you can add Office 2003 Web components to data access pages by using the Insert ActiveX Control command. However, you cannot use the components that you add to data access pages.
