Read Receipts Appear for Recipients Who Have Not Read the Message (828348)

SYMPTOMS

When you send an e-mail message that requests a read receipt in Microsoft Outlook 2000 and you open the sent e-mail in your Sent folder, the read receipt information on the Tracking tab may be incorrect. The information may include receipts from recipients that have not read the message.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if you click Reply to All in an e-mail message that you sent earlier, and request a new read receipt for the same e-mail message. If the recipients sent a read receipt to the earlier e-mail message and have not read the new e-mail message yet, the date and time information from the first read receipts may be appear on the Tracking tab of the new e-mail message that you sent by using Reply to All.
