Text and handwriting changes to a drawing in OneNote 2003 (827910)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Office OneNote 2003
- Microsoft Office OneNote 2003, Service Pack 1 (SP1)
SYMPTOMSWhen you work in Microsoft Office OneNote 2003 on your
Tablet PC, text and handwriting that you write changes to a drawing and you
cannot make changes to the text. CAUSEThis problem may occur if OneNote 2003 is in the
Create Drawings Only mode. When you select the Create
Drawings Only mode (point to Pen Mode on the
Tools menu), OneNote 2003 does not turn off the Create
Drawings Only mode when you restart OneNote 2003. As a result, if you
forget to turn off the Create Drawings Only mode when you are
finished with the feature, any text or handwriting that you write will be
converted to a drawing.RESOLUTIONAs of October 2003, there is no resolution or workaround to
convert the drawing that is created with the Create Drawings
Only mode back to text. You must re-create the text or handwriting if
you want to be able to edit the text.
To prevent future occurrences of
this problem, remember to turn off the Create Drawings Only
mode when you are finished with the feature. To do this, on the
Tools menu, point to Pen Mode, and then click
Create Both Handwriting and Drawings.STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
