Font and language settings of text in your drawing are not retained when you reopen drawing in Visio 2003 (827867)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Office Visio Professional 2003
- Microsoft Office Visio Standard 2003
SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft Office Visio 2003, when you change the font and
language format of text in your drawing (on the Format menu,
click Text, and then click the Font tab), you
may find that the settings that you configured are not retained when you save,
close, and then reopen your drawing.
For example, in the
English-language version of Visio 2003, if you change the Latin
text setting from Arial to MS
PGothic, change the Asian text setting from a blank
setting to MS PGothic, and change the
Language setting from English (U.S.) to
Japanese, the text and language settings do not use the new
settings when you save, close, and then reopen your drawing. The original
settings are retained when you view the settings in the Font
tab of the Text dialog box.CAUSEThis behavior may occur if the language of your drawing does
not use the same language setting that you configured for the text in your
drawing. The font and language settings on the Font tab of the
Text dialog box are determined by the language of your
drawing. If the text language setting does not match the language of the
drawing, you may experience the behavior that is described earlier in the
"Symptoms" section of this article. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this behavior, change the language of your
drawing to the language setting that you configured on the Font
tab of the Text dialog box. To change the language
of your drawing, follow these steps:
- Start Visio 2003 and then open your drawing.
- On the File menu, click
Properties.
- Click the Summary tab.
- In the Language box, click the language
that you want, and then click OK.
