SYMPTOMSWhen you run the Microsoft Office 2003 Setup program from a
remote session by using a server mapped drive on a Microsoft Windows 2000
Terminal Server, the Setup program may stop responding.
This
restriction does not exist for remote sessions that are hosted on Microsoft
Windows XP or later.CAUSEThis problem occurs because Windows 2000 Terminal Server
does not support installing Microsoft Windows Installer-based programs by using
a mapped drive during a remote Terminal Services session. Because Windows
Installer runs as a system service, drive letters that are mapped in a remote
session may not be visible to the Windows Installer service.STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
