An Access 2000 database may stop responding when you open the database in a multi-user environment (827425)
The information in this article applies to:
This
article applies only to a Microsoft Access database (.mdb).
Moderate: Requires basic macro, coding, and interoperability
skills.
SYMPTOMSWhen you open an Access 2000 database in a multi-user
environment and then you run Trend Micro antivirus software on your
computer, the Access database may stop responding. If you use Windows
Task Manager to try to end the task that corresponds to the database, you may
receive the following error message: This program cannot
be closed. If it is being debugged, please resume it or close the debugger
first. CAUSEThe Trend Micro scan engine software scans all the types of
files in the scan list. The scan engine of the antivirus software may take
longer to scan large Microsoft Access database files (.mdb) than other types of
files. If you try to close the Access database file while the file is being
scanned, you may receive the error message that is mentioned in the "Symptoms"
section. RESOLUTIONTo
resolve this problem, remove the .mdb files from the scan extension list or
remove the .mdb files from the Trend Micro Scan Engine software virus
scan. For additional information about how to turn off scanning for
the affected versions of Access database files, visit the following Trend Micro Web site:
