Data in a Cell Is Deleted After You Change Pages in a Visio Drawing That Uses the DataGrid Control (827233)

SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft DataGrid Control 6.0 (OLEDB) in a Visio drawing, you may find that you cannot modify data in a cell after you change pages in your Visio drawing. For example, if you modify data in a cell on one page of your Visio drawing, switch to a different page of your drawing, and then return to the page that contains the DataGrid control, the data is deleted when you click the cell to modify the data.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if both of the following conditions are true:
  • You use Microsoft DataGrid Control 6.0 (OLEDB) in a multipage Visio drawing.

    -and-
  • You try to modify data in a cell after you switch to a different page in your drawing and then return to the page that contains the DataGrid control.
In this scenario, the DataGrid control is not deactivated and reactivated correctly.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, use either of the following methods.

Method 1

Insert the DataGrid control into a user form, and then display the user form.

Method 2

Use the DataGrid control in a single-page Visio drawing.
