Windows Does Not Recognize the HP Photosmart 315 Memory Card (823776)

SYMPTOMS

When you use a HP Photosmart 315 digital camera, Windows 2000 or Windows XP may not be able to read the compact flash memory card.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the HP Photosmart 315 compact flash memory card is larger than 32 MB. Windows 2000 and Windows XP cannot read HP Photosmart 315 compact flash memory cards that are larger than 32 MB without a compact flash card reader.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use one of the following methods:
  • Use a compact flash memory card that is 32 MB or smaller.
  • Use a compact flash memory card reader to read compact flash cards that are larger than 32 MB in Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
