SYMPTOMS

You may experience one or more of the following symptoms after you install an array controller in your Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based computer:
  • If you have multiple host bus adapters and each one is configured to access multiple ports, and you plug in a host bus adapter cable, Windows Server 2003 stops responding.
  • When you try to shut down or to restart the computer, Windows Server 2003 stops responding at the final black screen that appears before you expect the computer to turn off. You must manually turn off the power and then turn on the power to restart the computer.
  • If you have a host bus adapter that is configured to use a single path to a shared storage device that contains multiple devices, and you remove certain disks from an array by using a storage management program, when you try to restart Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 stops responding.
  • When the computer is under a moderate input/output load, the Storport.sys driver may not return a completion status to the program that called it.
