SYMPTOMSIf you upgrade to Microsoft Office XP after you install Microsoft Project 2000 on your computer, you may receive a prompt to insert the Microsoft Office 2000 CD-ROM when you start Microsoft Project 2000.CAUSEThis issue occurs because the Office XP installation removes the Microsoft Office 2000 shared components that are used by Microsoft Project 2000. This behavior causes the Microsoft Project 2000 installation to enter a repair mode. Therefore, the program prompts the user for the Office 2000 installation CD-ROM.RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, insert the Microsoft Office 2000 CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive when you start Microsoft Project 2000. The files that Microsoft Project 2000 requires will be restored to the shared components folder on the computer.MORE INFORMATIONMicrosoft Windows Installer is a self-repairing program.
Programs that are installed as part of Office 2000, or as part of Office XP, are resilient and will therefore automatically verify
and automatically reinstall any missing files and registry entries. As a result, Microsoft Project 2000
