Computer That Runs the German Version of Exchange 2000 Lists the Key Management Server Service in German but Lists All Other Services in English (823561)

SYMPTOMS

On a computer that is running Microsoft Windows 2000 Server and the German version of Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server, when you list the Exchange 2000 services by using the Exchange Development Kit (EDK) Backup API function HrESEBackupRestoreGetRegistered, the Key Management server service is listed in German, but all the other services are listed in English.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next SP4 that contains this hotfix.
