Scale setting of CAD drawings is not correct when you use metric page settings (822381)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Visio 2002 Professional
  • Microsoft Visio 2002 Standard

SYMPTOMS

When you set the scale of a Visio drawing to a metric scale by using millimeters, and then import a CAD drawing, the drawing will appear correctly in the preview pane that is generated by the CAD Drawing Properties dialog box. However, the CAD drawing units setting will be in Meters, not in Millimeters, for example, the Custom scale setting will be 1 mm = 300 m, not 1 mm = 200 m. If you set the drawing CAD Drawing Properties dialog box to Millimeters, and then import the drawing, the drawing will appear scaled down to the size of a dot.
