This article discusses the versions of Teradata that are supported by Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services.

Microsoft Corporation and Teradata, a division of NCR, jointly recognize that mutual customers may want to combine Microsoft products and Teradata products when they build analytical applications. The Analysis Services analytical database includes OLAP cubes and possibly mining models. They can use data from Teradata for a HOLAP solution, a MOLAP solution, or a ROLAP solution.

Teradata Databases

Analysis Services supports any Teradata database that is supported by NCR Teradata, including the following:
  • V2R5.0
  • V2R4.1

Connectivity

Microsoft recommends that you install Analysis Services on a computer that is separate from the Teradata database. One of the following connectivity products must be installed on the Analysis server computer:
  • NCR Teradata OLEDB driver (TDOLEDB) version 1.1 or later.
  • NCR Teradata ODBC driver version 3.2 or later and the Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC. The Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC is installed with SQL Server.
